Psychosexual & Relationship Therapy/Couples Therapy

Sexuality and intimate relationships can be one of the most complex and emotionally sensitive areas of our selves. Many people will experience challenges in their sex lives and relationships within their lifetime, however we live in a society where we are often uncomfortable talking openly about sex. Navigating intimate relationships may be a struggle with the complex interplay of our partner’s wants and needs and our own. Psychosexual and relationship therapy offers a unique, safe, and confidential space to explore this area.

I am a fully accredited UKCP psychotherapist and am currently undertaking specialist training in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Somatic-Concentric Sex Therapy (an approach which includes non-touch based body psychotherapy interventions to bring a whole-body approach to sex and relationship therapy). I work with both individuals and couples, either online or in person.

MY SPECIALIsm WITHIN THIS FIELD IS RECLAIMING INTIMACY AND PLEASURE: psychotherapeutic support in the reclamation of embodiment, pleasure and intimacy.

Sexual abuse, assault and boundary violation affects us at the deepest level of self. When it has not been safe to be in our body, we may have developed intelligent mechanisms to distance ourselves from our bodies and strategies to protect ourselves from intimacy, closeness and connection, especially sexually. At some point we may feel ready to start the journey of reclaiming this but not know where to start. Shame, confusion, secrecy and feeling we should have ‘our stuff’ together means it can be hard to find spaces to share what is really going on for us.

As a body psychotherapist with specific training in psychosexual and relationship therapy and women’s yoga and embodiment practices I offer a whole-body approach to the sexual healing journey which is client-led, trauma sensitive, compassionate and gentle.
